funnily enough, this painting (Orestes Pursued by the Furies/The Remorse of Orestes by William-Adolphe Bouguereau) shows Orestes being righteously tormented by the furies for murdering his own mother

he had done so because his mother had killed his father/her husband (Agamemnon) for sacrificing their daughter to the gods for better sailing weather

so basically, this is hilarious because it works on every level apart from the one you actually intended
