Days of Future Past (2014)

Every time I see this I can’t help saying “Magneto OUT” and snorting unattractively. Worse, now I just say that randomly in conversations with kellyoxenfree. WHY IS IT SO FUNNY.

It’s a testimony to the acting abilities of Sir Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender that in the moment, Magneto works— the cape, the armor, the floating, alluvit. Once it’s giffed and divorced from context, you can see just how impressive it is that they make you believe in this guy completely when the movie’s running.
